Christine H. Nye

Christine H. Nye is a Senior Fellow at NORC supporting the work of the Health Care department.

She works with NORC's research teams focusing primarily on Medicaid topics, including long-term services and supports and managed care. Nye's expertise is in health policy, demonstration and pilot program development and implementation, and qualitative program evaluation.

Nye primarily advises and supports research on long term services and supports and managed care.

Prior to joining NORC, Nye was the health information technology coordinator for Florida. Before that, Nye served as HCFA's first Medicaid Bureau director, providing states for the first time with a voice in federal policy making. While there, she led the implementation of the drug rebate program, significant nation-wide expansions in Medicaid benefits and eligibility and the growth of managed care and community based long-term services and support programs. Nye also was the Wisconsin Medicaid program director, ran Medicare Advantage programs for United Health Care in the southeast and was the chief operating office for Schaller Anderson (now Aetna's Medicaid arm).

Nye was Wisconsin Medicaid director when the program was rated as the nation's most efficiently run by Forbes Magazine and was the first federal Medicaid Bureau director, the predecessor organization to the CMS Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services.
