Mairin Mancino, Senior Director, is an expert with over 20 years' experience in policy analysis, health plan and health system issues.

In her role at NORC, she works to leverage the depth and breadth of NORC’s diverse social sciences expertise and research assets to help health care clients meet their policy and business objectives.   

Prior to joining NORC, Mancino was system director of policy and advocacy at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. Summa is an integrated-delivery system with an employed physician group with a 5-star Medicare Advantage plan, commercial health insurance offerings, as well as an accountable care organization (ACO). In that role, she worked cross-functionally with daily interactions the executive team to interpret and respond to public policy issues. She also helped the hospital, health plan, medical group, and ACO implement operational changes needed to succeed in a changing regulatory environment.

While at Summa, she played an instrumental role in securing internal and external buy in, grant funding and community partnerships to launch a novel emergency department opioid use disorder medication assisted treatment (MAT) program with wrap around social determinants of health support services. The program included peer recovery coaches, dedicated substance use disorder nurses and warm handoff to long-term treatment. 

Before Summa, Mancino worked for seven years in health care consulting as a vice president at Avalere Health, where she delivered policy and strategic support to health plans, provider organizations, pharmacy benefit managers, health IT companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and investors. At Avalere, she held a leadership position within a 26-person practice group focused on delivering analysis, strategic advice, and business planning related to health care policy developments stemming from the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Mancino graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College with a degree in American studies.
