Zoe Slowinski

Zoe is a Research Methodologist in the Methodology and Quantitative Social Sciences department at NORC at the University of Chicago. She has more than 12 years of applied research experience in the U.S. and internationally, including work with federal, academic, and nonprofit organizations.
Zoe's work focuses on survey design, measurement error, and qualitative data collection. At NORC, she develops questionnaires, conducts cognitive and usability interviews, plans and moderates focus groups, and analyzes data for clients such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the National Science Foundation, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Zoe also manages projects from design to completion and trains and supervises project teams.
She serves in many roles across projects at NORC. For the Bureau of Labor Statistics, she manages a project transitioning the American Time Use Survey to a multi-mode design. She serves as methodologist on the All of Us Research Program, a National Institutes of Health initiative to collect genetic and health data from one million people in the United States. Zoe has also served as methodologist on survey design, questionnaire development, and cognitive testing efforts for federal workforce surveys sponsored by the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics. In a previous role at NORC, she led projects for the International Programs department, including the USAID Women’s Political Participation and Leadership activity.
Zoe has collaborated on studies published in peer reviewed journals such as the Journal of Survey Statistics and Methodology and often presents her research at conferences.
Prior to joining NORC, Zoe held research roles in public opinion and media organizations.
